Hannaford Brothers is leveraging its ATM network to help track costs and coordinate inventory across stores, distribution centers, and its fleet of trucks, while combining retail and wholesale grocery delivery. And they train their own people on new technologies. All their Cisco people were trained internally.

Active in the communities in which its stores are located, Hannaford's community service contributions include Children's Charity Days, in which a portion of sales once a week for a month are donated to organizations such as the Children's Cancer Program, Children's Miracle Network, and the Ronald McDonald House; a contribution to a playground designed specifically for accessibility by physically-challenged elementary school students; and a new police dog for the Falmouth Police Department.
